FAQ

About Our Services

Q: I've only worked in restaurants. Can you really help me transition to a corporate role?

A: Absolutely! Restaurant experience provides incredible transferable skills that corporate employers value highly - leadership under pressure, customer service excellence, problem-solving, team management, and multitasking. We specialize in helping you identify and articulate these skills in corporate language. Many of our clients have successfully transitioned from restaurant roles to operations management, customer success, project management, and leadership positions in various industries.

Q: How long does the career transition process typically take?

A: Every journey is unique, but most clients see significant progress within 3-6 months. Some land new roles within weeks of completing our programs, while others prefer a more gradual transition that takes 6-12 months. The timeline depends on your specific goals, current situation, market conditions, and how actively you implement our strategies. We'll work with you to create a realistic timeline that fits your life and goals.

Q: Do you only work with people wanting to leave hospitality?

A: Not at all! We work with hospitality professionals across the spectrum - those seeking advancement within the industry, those exploring transitions to corporate roles, and those unsure which direction they want to pursue. Many clients discover through our process that their passion lies in hospitality leadership, while others realize they're ready for a change. We meet you where you are and help you discover the path that's right for you.

Q: What makes your approach different from other career coaches?

A: Dr. Wickey Byrd brings 25 years of hospitality industry experience combined with her role directing career services for 3,000+ students at UCF's Rosen College of Hospitality Management. She understands both the hospitality industry and corporate environments intimately. Our T.H.R.I.V.E. methodology is specifically designed for hospitality professionals, addressing the unique challenges and leveraging the specific strengths that come from hospitality experience.

Process & Expectations

Q: What can I expect from my first session?

A: Your first session focuses on understanding your background, goals, and challenges. We'll conduct a skills assessment, discuss your career history, explore your aspirations, and identify any obstacles you're facing. By the end of the session, you'll have clarity on your strengths, a better understanding of your options, and initial next steps. Most clients leave feeling energized and more confident about their career prospects.

Q: Do you offer virtual sessions?

A: Yes! We offer both in-person sessions (in the Orlando area) and virtual sessions via video conferencing. Many of our clients actually prefer virtual sessions for the convenience and flexibility. All our services - from individual coaching to workshops - can be delivered virtually with the same level of personalization and effectiveness.

Q: How do I know which service is right for me? A: We recommend starting with a single Individual Career Coaching Session to assess your needs and goals. Based on that conversation, we can recommend whether you'd benefit most from additional individual sessions, our comprehensive T.H.R.I.V.E. program, or specific services like resume optimization. We'll never oversell - we'll recommend exactly what will serve you best.

Investment & Logistics

Q: Do you offer payment plans?

A: Yes! We offer payment plans for our T.H.R.I.V.E. program and larger service packages. We believe financial constraints shouldn't prevent you from investing in your career growth. Contact us to discuss options that work for your budget.

Q: How soon can I get started?

A: We typically have availability within 1-2 weeks for individual sessions. Our T.H.R.I.V.E. program has limited spots and may have a short waiting list, but we'll work with you to find the earliest available start date. The sooner you reach out, the sooner we can begin transforming your career trajectory.

Q: What if I'm not satisfied with the service?

A: Your success is our priority. If you're not completely satisfied with your first individual session, we'll work with you to address any concerns or provide a full refund. For longer programs, we check in regularly to ensure you're getting maximum value and making progress toward your goals.

Q: Do you help with salary negotiation?

A: Absolutely! Salary negotiation is often covered in our interview preparation sessions and T.H.R.I.V.E. program. We help you research market rates, understand your value proposition, and develop confidence in negotiating compensation packages. Many hospitality professionals undervalue their skills - we help you recognize and advocate for your worth.

Getting Started

Q: I'm not sure if I'm ready for a career change. Should I still reach out?

A: Definitely! Uncertainty is completely normal and often the perfect time to get clarity. Many clients come to us feeling stuck or unsure about their direction. Our process helps you explore your options without pressure to make immediate changes. Sometimes the best decision is to stay in hospitality with renewed focus and strategy - we support whatever path serves you best.

Q: What information should I bring to our first meeting?

A: Bring your current resume (even if it needs work), any job descriptions you're interested in, and a general idea of your career goals or concerns. Don't worry if your resume isn't perfect or if your goals aren't clearly defined - that's exactly what we're here to help with. The most important thing you can bring is openness to exploring your potential.

Q: How do I schedule a consultation?

A: Simply contact us through our website contact form, email, or phone. We'll schedule a brief initial conversation to understand your needs and determine the best way to support your career goals. This initial consultation helps ensure we're a good fit before you invest in any services.
